KURARAY POVAL™ Applications Cosmetics
KURARAY POVAL™
Care products and cosmetics should give the skin a fresh, natural appearance and at the same time be well tolerated and safe in use. KURARAY POVAL™ LV grades are specially developed for the cosmetics industry and are used for peel off masks, mascara, sunscreen or shampoos. Thanks to their particularly low methanol (MeOH) content below 0.3% ex Germany and even below 0.1% ex Japan), they are particularly environmentally friendly and safe to use. Polyvinyl alcohol is a nonionic water-soluble polymer that is well suited for water based cosmetic and personal care products. Polyvinyl alcohol is a linear and crystalline polymer that is also biodegradable under the right conditions.
KURARAY POVAL™ LV is recognized as one of the very few vinyl polymers which is water soluble and inherently biodegradable in water in the presence of suitably acclimated micro-organisms (test method ISO 14851)
