New Kuraray Poval™ Grades available

We are pleased to announce that the following two grades have been added to our product range:

Kuraray Poval™ 3-88

Grade nameViscosity [mPa•s]Degree of hydrolysis [mol%]Non-volatile content [%]Ash content [%]pH
Kuraray Poval™ 3-883.2-3.687.0-89.097.5±2.5≤0.45.0-7.0

Kuraray Europe GmbH has recently started the production of Kuraray Poval™ 3-88 for the European market. We have recently seen an increasing demand for this type of product and we are keen to service the market from local production. Main benefit is the lower viscosity for adhesives, emulsion polymerization, etc.

Kuraray Poval™ 6-96

Grade nameViscosity [mPa•s]Degree of hydrolysis [mol%]Non-volatile content [%]Ash content [%]pH
Kuraray Poval 6-965.0-7.096.0-97.597.5±2.5≤0.54.5-7.0

We have also launched a new partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol, Kuraray Poval™ 6-96, with properties close to that of a fully hydrolyzed grade. This product complies with the Chinese standard GB 9685-2016 without the limitations that fully hydrolyzed grades have for food contact material for wet food.

Kuraray Poval™ 6-96 can also be used as an OBA carrier: Its properties and especially its water resistance are equal to what is normally achieved with a fully hydrolysed product.
